Winter Sowing – In-person

February 20 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Learn how to grow seeds from winter sowing. Winter sowing is a
process of using a milk jug, filling it with soil and seeds, and then
setting it outside in a sunny but protected area. In the class you will
select one seed packet for your winter sowing jug. All material will be
provided – jug, seeds, soil, water, tape, and pen – so you will leave with
one completed winter sowing jug. There will be time for questions, on
where to place your winter sowing jug, how to manage seedlings, best
seeds for winter sowing, paper versus plastic pots, etc.. Also everyone
in class is invited back to the EcoNatick/Earth Day celebration on
4/27/24 at BFL to take part in a seedling exchange.

Monica Foley has been gardening since she was a little girl. She is
interested in native plants, herbs, flowers, wildlife habitats, floral
designs and has been winter sowing for the past ten years.
