Introducing Our Friends
We invite you to join The Friends of Bacon Free Library. The Friends are a dynamic group of volunteers who are dedicated to supporting programs and services at The Bacon Free Library. Some of the library programs made possible by the Friends are author visits, children’s entertainers, museum passes, rental books (speed reads), summer reading prizes, Santa’s holiday visit and so much more. The Bacon Free Library would not be as vibrant and appealing without our Friends.
They do this through membership fees and fundraising events. These events include the ever popular Garden Tours and Kitchen Tours which are highly anticipated and great fun for all.
If you would like to become involved with the Friends, their meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from September to June at 7:15 pm in the library. Please join us.
Thank you for becoming a Friend of The Bacon Free Library — your library by the falls since 1880.
Friends of the BFL Hunnewell Garden Tour & Container Madness
Sunday June 11, 2017
This year’s the Friends of the BFL are doing something different and exciting! Join in an exclusive guided tour of the Hunnewell Estate Gardens (click HERE for a brief history of the estate and gardens). The tour will start promptly at 2:30pm at the Hunnewell Garden so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get there! You can pick up or purchase your tickets at the Bacon Free Library from 12:30-2pm on the day.
The tour will be followed by a unique “Container Madness” raffle on the grounds of the BFL and wine & cheese reception. If you like Elm Bank’s Festival of Trees, you’re going to LOVE this! We’ll have a variety of container gardens which we’ll be raffling off – they will be unique and beautiful!
Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 day of the event. Raffle tickets are in addition to tour tickets and we will be selling them at the “container madness” event.
You can purchase your tickets here through Paypal or at the library:
