Author Talk: Dick Lehr

May 30, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

We are happy to welcome author, journalist, and professor Dick Lehr back to the BFL to talk about his latest book, White Hot Hate.  This book details the gripping true story of an averted domestic terrorist attack against a Kansas farming town’s immigrant Somali community. Crucial to this story is the FBI informant who exposed the murderous plot.  Dan Day, an average guy who went to the police with his concerns, became an FBI informant.  Lehr also narrated the podcast adaptation of this story, ABC News Truth and Lies: The Informant.  Copies of this book will be available to purchase for $15; cash only please.

Dick Lehr, a professor of journalism at Boston University, is the author of seven award-winning works of nonfiction and fiction. Lehr previously wrote for the Boston Globe, where he was a member of its Spotlight Team, a special projects reporter and a magazine writer. While at the Globe he was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in investigative reporting.
