Summer Reading 2022

What does it mean to read beyond the beaten path?  It means to try something new!

  • a new author — ask your friends about their favorites
  • a new place — read in a hammock or in a tent in the backyard
  • a new style — an audio book is great on a road trip or for relaxing before bedtime
  • a new genre — does a mystery sound fun to you?  how about a nonfiction book?
  • a classic author — ask your parents which books and authors they enjoyed as kids
  • a far away setting — what is it like to live in Spain?  or Alaska?  or during medieval times?
  • a surprise — pick a book you know nothing about, but has a great cover

Use our Summer Reading map (below) to chart your own path through stories this summer.  Return your completed map to the library to earn raffle tickets for our summer reading prize baskets:

  • all/mostly picture books = 2 tickets
  • all/mostly readers = 4 tickets
  • all/mostly chapter books = 6 tickets

Raffle winners will be chosen on August 24th at the Stacey Peasley concert. (You do not have to be at the concert to win.)  There are 5 baskets to win! (each family can only win one basket)
