Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, commemorative events are held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores, homes — wherever young readers and books connect!
The Bacon Free Library is celebrating Children’s Book Week by giving a prize to any child who comes in during the week and takes books out. The prizes vary by day and will delight your children. Most children don’t need a prize to read, but it doesn’t hurt to get one! We hope you join us in celebrating children’s books and literacy, not just this week but every day!
