Darrow for the Defense: The Scopes Trial *at Natick Community Senior Center

October 10 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

In 1925, John Scopes, a high school biology teacher in Dayton, Tennessee was arrested for violating the state’s law against the preaching of evolution in the classroom. Featuring two of the nation’s greatest debaters, Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan, the trial spiraled into an all-out duel between science and religion over the proper way to teach the origins of the human race.

Presented by History Professor Gary Hylander & in partnership with the Natick Council on Aging. This talk takes place at the Natick Community Senior Center.
